Toys sold in the United States are covered by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act. This page says plainly what we know about a product and what we do not.

Age grading

An age recommendation is the manufacturer's, not ours. Where a listing states one we show it on the product. Where it states none, we place the toy in an age band so the site is browsable — but that band is our editorial judgement and is never presented as a safety rating. If you need the manufacturer's grading and it is not shown, ask us before buying.

Small parts and choking

Toys graded for age three and over may contain small parts and are not suitable for children under three. Where a listing gives us that grading, the warning appears on the product page.

Batteries

Button and coin cells are dangerous if swallowed. Keep battery compartments closed and fastened, and keep loose cells away from children entirely.

Recalls and defects

Stop using the toy and tell us through the contact form with the order number. We will refund or replace it, and pass the report to the manufacturer. Serious incidents should also go to the CPSC.
